EXPLORE THE FAMOUS LAKES OF SWITZERLAND

The Alpine town of Davos is covered in fresh meadows and amazing clear blue lakes. The diverse geography has made Switzerland a famous tourist attraction with over 1,500 lakes holding upwards of six per cent of Europe’s entire fresh water stock. The famously crystal lakes are increasingly drawing in visitors to experience the vistas with loved ones.

Switzerland is famous for many things, including the striking landscapes which are unique to this part of the world. The unspoilt greenery, juxtaposed against the glistening lakes, makes visiting Switzerland a mystical magical and dreamy experience.

The famously crystal lakes are increasingly drawing in visitors to experience the vistas with loved ones. One of the most famous lakes in Switzerland is Lake Geneva, known not only for its scale and jaw dropping beauty, but also as being the largest lake in Switzerland. It sits at an altitude of 372 metres is surrounded by mountains with perfect views of the Grand Combin and Mont Blanc. Its northern shoreline rubs shoulders with castles and villages that look spectacular when riding in the Geneva Lake. It is also a great place for rowing, sailing, wakeboarding and so many more amazing activities to enjoy with family and friends.

Lakes large and small can be found in almost all cantons and act as an important source of water for local residents. During the summer, and some winter months, the lakes are the focal point for leisure activities. 

Lake Davos is a famous attraction where almost everything is possible, including sailing, paddling, swimming, rowing and recently wakeboarding. For those that prefer land to water, walkers and joggers can enjoy the 4 km path around the lake, as a varied and simply beautiful route for scenic exercise. The view is directed towards the Tinzenhorn, famously known as the Davos Matterhorn. Food and beverage options are also available in abundance, including the Seebüel restaurant and the Sprecherhaus wave delicious delicacies that ultimately allow you to spend a whole day at the lake.
